Job Purpose
A vacancy has arisen for a Member Service Adviser in Heritage Credit Union Ltd. This is a full-time permanent role (35 hours per week).
The Credit Union is seeking applications from individuals interested in an entry-level role in a financial services environment and wishing to utilise their existing education (ideally in business or financial services) within a community-based organisation. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who want to be part of a growing organisation. Applicants should be committed to achieving high standards and have a flexible approach to work.
The role will be based across all our branches in line with the needs of the business. The position is full-time and will require Saturday work. The successful applicant will work as part of the member services team responsible for providing an excellent member services experience to members and potential members across all business channels – counter, phone, online, and email.
Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide a quality service to members at the counter to enable them to make lodgements, withdrawals, loan drawdown and repayments
- Accurately and diligently handle cash, reconcile balances, and account for any inconsistencies
- Through training, develop excellence in dealing with member queries to the highest levels of service across diverse areas such as advising of credit union products, services & complaints etc.
- Ensure compliance with existing and new systems & controls, and policies & procedures necessary, as outlined by the Risk, Compliance, MLRO & DPO, the Internal Audit Function and Operations Mgr.
- Clearly explaining products and services to our members
- Complete other duties as required by the management team
- Undertake relevant training as deemed necessary by the management team
Competencies Required:
The successful candidate must have the following attributes, experience, and qualifications:
- Previous credit union experience is desirable (but not essential)
- Be member service-focused and deliver an excellent member service experience
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and a team player
- Excellent administration skills, a strong compliance ethos with a “right first time” approach to work
- Cash handling experience and ability to problem solve and deal with issues as they arise
- Good I.T. skills including Word, Excel and Email
- An appreciation and an awareness of the credit union ethos
- Proficiency in the English language is a requirement
- Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable
- Travel will be required between all branches the successful candidate would need a full clean driving license and access to a vehicle
Qualifications
- QFA, CUA or actively working towards a qualification in either is preferable
- The successful candidate will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank Guidelines, (QFA/CUA(Loans)/APA in Loans/Pathways CU Diploma/ACCUP). The Credit Union will provide financial support for the successful candidate to obtain this qualification if they do not have it currently.
