Financing Solar Panels in Ireland
Installing solar panels can help you generate more of your own electricity and reduce the amount you need to draw from the grid. Depending on your system and how you use electricity at home, you may also choose to add a battery to store energy for later use.
The overall cost will depend on the size of your solar PV system, the number and type of panels you need and the work involved in installing them on your property. Your installation will also include equipment such as an inverter and mounting system, along with the necessary electrical work.
Adding battery storage, energy monitoring or carrying out associated roof work can increase the initial cost. Available grants may reduce the amount you ultimately need to cover, so it is worth factoring these in when working out how much you may need to finance.
How Much Do Solar Panels Cost in Ireland?
The cost of installing solar panels in Ireland can vary considerably depending on the size of the system, the equipment selected and the characteristics of your home.
Some of the main factors that can affect the cost include:

Are There Grants for Solar Panels in Ireland?
Yes. The SEAI Solar PV Scheme provides grant support towards the installation of solar PV panels on eligible homes in Ireland.
The amount of support available and eligibility requirements can change, so rather than hard-coding the current grant amount into the page, I'd keep this section relatively evergreen and send users directly to SEAI for the latest information.
You generally need to meet the scheme's eligibility requirements and use an SEAI-registered solar PV company to qualify.
